After having the box of Plastic Renew sitting around for almost two years, I decided to give it a try today on my banged up stock plastic. I'm VERY impressed with how well this stuff does work. It DOES NOT make your plastic perfect and new again, but it does make a huge difference. I first tried it out on my white sidepanels because I was kind of scared of it messing my plastic up, but all went well with them so I decided to try the back fender. After wet sanding the fender with the supplied sand paper and drying the fender off, I nearly panicked because my fender looked terrible!

Almost forgot- the steel wool they give you in the kit worked really good to clean up my WC frame guards and the can on my FMF pipe

Cowboy, you need to use successive grits til you reach about 1500. Then it will really shine!

yep, i tried the renew also. good stuff. they are cheap with the sandpaper though. now we just sand, use soe superfine wet paper, apply mop and glow then buff with steel wool. looks great.

That must be why what I did on a buddies 4 wheeler still looks a little rough. It does work well, but not quite as good as new plastic. I'll have to go get some finer sand paper. Doesn't it also recommend using steele wool?

Yardpro, I will go one step further. I use Mop-n-glo, but I hear if you purchase the industrial floor acrylic like what they put down on high school/college/ and professional basketball floors, that stuff will last forever. Mop-n-glo will start to wash off after about 5-6 bike washings, but all you got to do is re-apply it to make it look shiney again.

Yeah...I went through the successive grit sandpaper thing and my rear fender shined but you could still see the marks left from earlier heavy grits. I didn't know about the Mop & Glo trick and just bought a UFO fender on eBay. I know now. Thanks.

whatever you do -->if you put on a sticker or graphics on don`t ever try to peel it off as you`ll take off the plastic renew with the sticker - also plastic renew can scratch off but that same effect would scratch a new fender anyways-i bought a 1984 cr500 once that had the plastic renew job done on it and it looked great, especially from 20 feet away at 40mph-the red was very bright and nice till one day when i pulled off the stickers, underneath i could see exactly how dull the plastic was,so ON went new stickers ---another great idea is to just apply fake fur over your plastic with some glue, use your imagination and don`t forget to send us some pictures when you`re done

Would the fur necessarily have to be fake?
