Thumbs up MOOSE SKID PLATE

This is long overdue, but hey here it comes. I have used the moose on my 98- 00- and now 03 kx250. First off I like the 3 clamp design of the moose, the works connection has a 4.What I found out using the works connection on my cr's and kx's is the the right rear clamp likes to rub on the bottom cases.Nothing real alarming, but for someone anal like me it bothers me. The moose has real beefy clamps that rap perfect around the frame tubes 2 clamps in the front and 1 in the back. The bolts have allen heads instead of a phillips head(no problem getting that sucker tight without stripping the head). I still have the original moose on my 00 it does not fit perfect anymore it hangs down in the rear a little from taking hits, but no big deal. I mainly ride motocross, but I really like the ignition side and the water pump side of the plate great protection. If you come up short or catch something in the woods especially on the ignition side the cases around this area could be toast the same with the water pump side cases.I in the past on my 94 cr 250 came up short and had good damage on the ignition side of the cases using just a glide plate. This plate is nice and beefy and stay's tight. My opinion, their is no other skid plate for me.

I have a works connection and I do not like the phillips head screws that they use. I have lost 2 of the brackets so far even using locktite. I think that I will switch to allen head screws as a result of your post and have a look at the Moose next time I am in the market for one.

Thanks for the informative post.

I third that the phillips screws are no good. It's nice that they are recessed but you constantly need to check them even with locktight. I have a Moose on one of the bikes and I am happy with it.
