That's not the one I would choose.

I've seen this one in action, and if I didn't have a truck, this would be the one I own. It's just awesome and cost less then that one too.

I've seen it in action. Talked extensively with the guy that had it, and it's his brother-in-law that makes them. He said his was an early stage one, but he's never had a problem with it at all and loves it.

He was strapping a cr500 to it and said he'd taken it to SoCal from Utah about 30 times and never even once did he wonder if it would hold.

Believe me, your foot pegs are a LOT stronger then your handlebars ever will be.

to each his own though, but for what it's worth, I've used the type you are thinking of getting and it doesn't hold a candle to this one.

I have one sort of like the one in your first post and it scares me to use it. I finally got used to it but only after modifying it. I also run a ratchet strap under the rail and hook the strap to both pegs so that it pulls the bike down into the rail even better. I also hook a strap from the hitch to the peg to keep it from leaning outwards and I feel a little better now. I am still not 100% comfortable with it yet.

I honestly see no flaws in the first one I had posted, except possibly the pin that keeps the arm over the seat, not sure how it is made.. but I will have to see about it, and may end up getting the 'Ultimate MXHauler'

The one you posted may work fine. Mine didn't have the arm over the seat so I felt really uncomfortable with it. Especially when a friend behind me saw my bike almost fall off.

They all work fine for dirt bikes, as long as your vehicle can handle it ok,, it puts the entire load right on the hitch, effectivly making tongue weight about 250lbs. On vehicles with too weak suspension your headlights end up point way too high, the front wheels get light and steering is comprimised.. I've seen people use the first one with medium sized street bikes, I wouldn't but to each his own..

I have a 4x8 open trailer and with my bike on it the tongue weight is about 50lbs..

FWIW, I would go with the Ultimate MXHauler. You'd be surprised with how much more stable it is when attaching to the frame/pegs.

It even appears to ride higher than the rail type. Very handy with rough terrain.

It does. It actually has a jack on it, so you lower the jack, put your bike on it, then Jack it up. It's slick, I'm telling you it's the shizzle.

Not trying to beat this thing to death, but that support at the top (seat) would probably help stability(most rail type I've seen don't have it). However, I could see it wearing a hole through the vinyl eventually.

Cool, if you get it, let us know your thoughts. a review would even be cooler.

Of course after spending the coin, it's pretty easy to give it a good review, but honestly, I think it's awesome, and I don't own one.

Holding it down by pushing down on the seat doesn't seem like the smartest way to hold a bike. Not only will it wear out your seat foam and cover but it looks like the bike leans against the post also.

Tying it doen by the pegs if just about the most secure way to tie a bike down. It isn't going anywhere like that. I'd go with the Ultimate MX Hauler over that first one any day of the week.

Yeah, I wondered that, being that I take it somewhere every weekend it would soon wear away or make an indention in the foam.. which would hurt if I would land in it
