I got a GREAT deal on a blown up CR250....so I thought. I brought it home and pulled the cylinder to discover that it was scratched. I sent the cylinder to Millennium Technologies and had it replated. When I got it back I put new Wiseco piston, rings, and wrist pin bearing in along with Cometic top end gasket kit. I heat cycled it a couple of times and it smoked a lot. I thought maybe it just didn't clean out since it was only ran at idle for a couple minutes at a time. I took it out to gently break it in and it wouldn't clear itself out. I realized that it was burning transmission oil. After some research, I decided that it was the crank seal so I replaced the right side crank seal along with new Honda OEM cover seals. It runs better but still burns some transmission oil. I think it needs a center case gasket. I've never been into the bottom end of anything. Everyone tells me that it only takes an afternoon to replace the case gasket but I don't have a garage so I've decided to sell it. I have receipts for everything that I did to it including new clutch cable and new black Acerbis front and rear fenders. I also recovered the seat myself it is now all black other than the front and side number plates which are white. All totalled up I have about $800 in the bike and would like to get my money out of it. So I am selling it for $800 Firm. If you like to deal on things then I am asking $1200 but I might discount it $400 just for you!! I am located in Clarksburg, WV Zip 26301. Let me know if you are interested!! Thanks, Jeff Brooks

You could pull the flywheel and replace the left side crank seal without much trouble. If one side was bad the other one is probably the problem, rather than the case gasket.

Well, I think if the left side is bad it would suck air and run lean not suck transmission oil. I actually have the left side seal and it will go with the bike if I don't get to it before it sells.

OK, even if nobody is interested in buying this bike...am I on track with my asking price? It seems like a decent deal to me for somebody lookin' for a bike. I was just lookin' to make a buck to support my street bike funds!! Thanks, Jeff
