1989 CR500 for sale

Hi all, bought this bike as a package deal to get the kids a new bike and when I ride it they can't keep up so selling it for something smaller. Or trade for your 250 or.....

1989 CR500R, I've had it a month. Things I've done: extra carb as I was trying to get it to start easier. Hard to kick start but pull starts easily. Seat has a small tear in it (about 1"). All Pastics look ok but not perfect. New gasket set as I put a new head gasket in it. Replaced the head stud and put new nuts on it. have an extra coil for it. Has FMF pipe and silencer.

Rear tire is about 70% front looks 90%. Brakes are good, chain is ok. Sprockets look good. Could use new grips.

Runs very strong just is hard to start. I am asking $1000 OBO and am in Southern Idaho. I can help with delivery for the price of my diesel fuel or lets talk trade.

hello my name is harley and i seen your ad on here and couldnt resist there is nothing better than a cr500 2 stroke..... i want to start racing bikes but i need to get a good enough bike to race and i have wanted a cr500 since i was 7.....so when ever you can get back to me i would love it if you sent me some pics so i can see what i am most likely about to buy....you also said you needed somthing slower so your kids can keep up....but we will get into more detail if you could get back to me at your earliest convience.....

The 500 is an eay machine to start. You just need to learn the drill. Yes, there is a starting drill for the 5houndo, and if you master it, it will lite on the first kick everytime.

I rode a 500 once, wow, i wish i coul dfind one local in good shape i would buy it, that power, sound and thrill is bone chilling......any one got one in the Pittsburgh pa area they are selling?
