Using a synthetic oil no matter what brand would increase your fuel milage as much as 2%. Note if you are changing from conventional oils to Amsoil synthetic I recommend using the Amsoil engine flush. Why, because you want to clean your engine before adding a clean oil that won't gum up your engine. Even if you have been changing your oil every 3000 miles, if you look under your valve covers there will be a build up of what is commonly refered to as sludge. Buy one of your normal fram type oil filters and change the filter add the engine flush and idle for 20 minutes and drain the oil. You add 1ea 16oz can for every 5 qts of oil capacity. If you run a high oil capacity engine such as the Ford 7.3 diesel (15qts) you would want to drain a little oil out also.
