Sometimes we take things for granted. I saw a product review on another site and found myself thinking, "Wow, I thought everyone used those." I was about to buy a pair of these ![]() when I started riding a lot with rbm33. He already had a pair and we all usually do maintenance together anyway. So I don't own a pair but they are a very handy tool. Especially in between motos when time is critical. I'm a little curious how many of you guys and gurls out there use these. It's a GREAT product and you can get them pretty much anywhere. Here's a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] from motosport.com with a $24 price tag. I swear I've seen them for $16 somewhere. I just can't remember where. BTW, here's the product review I saw. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Rocky Mountain and Motosport both sell these for less I do believe. I thought about getting some for myself. I used these as a helicopter mechanic in the Navy and they are nice if you do alot of safety wiring.

My brother has them and I use his, but yes they are handy. They are also available through ATM, however I have not at this point added them to the store (will add them tonight and add a link for those interested).

Well Prag,,,,Jaswhitt just went up a little bit in my estimation of him!! FYI the best thing that I have found to lube those things with in cold country is Powerservices diesel additive. Really makes them spin in any weather, but especially important in cold weather.

I bought my first set at an army surplus store. We got 3 for 1.00. Lyndon Johnson was president. So Jaswhitt turns to Mr Hyde when he gets in front of a keyboard? My son is kind of an artist with the safety wiring. Get yours a set and you may never have to touch them again. FYI he discovered the way to lube them.

And that is? I have a pair I just bought in my tool box. They are a great tool to have. Like many of you I borrowed but now I own. One other very handy tool is a motion pro chain breaker. Don't use them very often but when you do they are time savers for sure. I used to boarrow but again I just bought one so now I own.

Jedi, I have the Motion Pro pliers you show in the initial post. I got the pair I now use in 2000 from the old Hi-Per Sports, now MAW. those and a roll of good safety wire and a roll of duct tape and I am ready to go. Bill

My son either laughs or disagrees strongly with me using the wire off the wirefeed to safetywire things that are going to be coming off and on. I do it because it works and is always handy and I always seem to have a batch of waste wire around. If it is going for a long time we use stainless. Always stainless on one of the boats. I would have to ask him what he uses on his airplane.

I thought just about everyone I knew had a pair of those...but than I really got to thinking and realized that my family is the only I know with those. My dad has about 4 pairs of those things just for his racing! and believe me, what Jedi is saying is right, those things work perfectly when the grip glue wears off, if you just put a safety wire in the middle, and on both ends of the grip, trust me. that grip wont move an inch.
