Default New purchase i made (roost guard)

So I bought a Thor sentinel roost guard and I'm having second thoughts about it.. Since I do crash because I am still learning to ride i think i needed something more protective and what do you guys think about this thor sentinel roost guard?
Some guys say that roost guards with shoulder pads don't do much and they wont really save you from the crash but I see them as way more protective option what you guys think?

an impact if harsh enough will break bones anyway, however by wearing a full protective body suit thing over a roost guard will reduce risk of cracking your elbow, cutting yourself on dirt and rocks etc... as you have padding all around and a better back plate protection.

a sentinel is only a roost vest so anything more will only protect more, I personally wear roost guards as I like to feel free on the bike, but each person has their own preference

About a year ago, I went woods riding with my friends and wasn't going to wear body protection because I figured it would be an easy ride. I put on my Thor Force protector anyway and proceeded to hit a tree with my shoulder hard and fast enough to shatter the shoulder cup and tear it off. Thanks to this, I was able to go to work the next day. I shudder to think what would have happened to my shoulder if I wasn't wearing it! Don't ride without it now, EVER!
