Default Hot Rods 257 stroker crank ( 06 CRF250R )

Just got done putting about two hard hours of ride time on the bike after putting a 257 stroker crank from HotRods in the middle of the little tiddler.

First off I didn't do this just because I wanted to. I ended up with a deep scare in the wrist pin end of the rod and so for the extra 75 bucks over a stock stroke crank I got the longer version. On a side note I found that my oil pump was severely dinged up and had to replace it once the cases were split and sitting on the bench. Always check everything when those cases are split.

Secondly I changed the pilot jet and needle as well as removing the float bowl baffle per ProCircuits instruction. This cleaned up the burble right off idle.

Ok on to the good stuff, Man I didn't think a little tiny 8ccs would make such a difference. Where it was a little sluggish off bottom and through the middle it just plain rips. I felt that I could roll up to the bottom of a hill and roll on the throttle with out fearing a power out. While it doesn't make this little bike a 450 it sure does every bit as much good as the $1,000 Full ti exhaust and for one fourth the price plus some of my own time which I was going to have to do anyway.

I say if your facing a crank replacement go for a small stroker kit I feel it was worth quite a bit more money than I paid for it. Overall I would give this product a A+ LOVE IT!

Esley

That should be a hoot to ride with a 440 kit in it. Good luck!

Yeah, no. My wife would not drive it anymore til I got it fixed. Found out that the Jeep liberty's struts are starting to go around 60,000 miles. The upper ball joints were shot as well. After I found out it was the ball joints, I was frankly scared to drive it back from my in laws house which is 20 miles away. Driving it one mile to the shop today was pretty sketchy.

I hear ya man. You have to take care of the things that move us daily. Good luck with the 440 plan though. Just watch ebay you might find one cheaper than you think.

I was going to have to send in my crank to a company here in Oregon to have them stroke it 4mm...............which that alone is $530. Then if anythingwas wore out more $$$$. But thierkit came with a new piston and everything. With the current bore I am at would make it a 440. Now if I already had the cylinder punched out to a 440 and then stroked it I would be at about a 460...............not sure if my heavy duty clutchsprings would hold up with that bad boy.

Just shim the clutch springs if your unsure about them holding up.
