Default Help!! (Buying boots)

My cheap MSR VX boots have pretty much had it (medial outer ankle plastic has broken and come loose from the stitching). I don't have much money, am looking at entry level boots, and could use some advice. I'm trying to get a good value (balance of cost and quality) and am considering: Used boots off eBay (there are some Alpinestars un my size but the model is not specified for $64 shipped), cheap boots (O'Neil/ Fly), Alpinestar Tech 1s, Fox Comp 5s, or Gaerne gx-1s.
Are there other boots in the sub $200 range I should consider?
Which of these has the best value in your opinion?
Will the aluminum buckles from the tech 10s swap to the 1s? (I liked the fit of the comp 5, but liked the build quality of the tech 1s better)

Can't honestly say I'm familiar with the options anymore, about 2 years ago I decided it was time for new boots and sprung for some Sidi CrossFire 2's and I have zero complaints with them. If it all possible, I'd try to get something with a hinged ankle. I believe the Fox Comp 5's are nice for the value.

Thanks for the input. The Cross Fires look amazing, but they're out of my price range... There is a pair of Chargers for $155 on eBay 🤔. Do yours run true to size, large, or small?

Mine ran true to size.

I have comp 5's. I am happy with them. They do run a little small. These are the only ones on the list that I have had my feet in. They are holding up well and are quite comfortable.

Thanks for the input! I liked the way they felt as well and can confirm that they run small. I usually wear a 11-12 and the 12s barely fit. The only thing I didn't like is the buckle design. It seemed to me like the small prongs that catch the buckle could break easily since they are made out of plastic and have to be clipped into... but if you say they are holding up for you then I'll continue to consider them.

After going back and forth between trying to get something decent used or spending a little more for new, I went with the Forma Terrain TX. They had good reviews and I had some credit on RMATVMC. So, the total came out to $180 on my part for a new pair of hinged boots... I hope I like 'em.

UPDATE: RMATVMC keeps pushing the date of these arriving back. It went from 4/1 to 4/4 to 4/7 and now 4/14. I spoke to a customer service rep who told me I can cancel the order at any time and there are some Comp 8s in my price range on eBay (basically comp 8s for the price of comp 5s).
Any advice on cancelling and shopping for other boots?
Any personal reviews on the Comp 8s?

Although I tried the Comp 8s, I couldn't bring myself to spend the $200 given our current financial situation. I continued to shop used on eBay and came across a nice set of Tech 6s that I managed to get for $100. I didn't find many reviews, but what I did find was positive. I know it's an older boot, but they seem to not have much time on them; I hope they hold up well.
