| Several weeks back I ordered some highly recommended Oxtar boots. I ordered a size 5 in black. The box I received was marked 4.5 black….I opened it up to find a WHITE pair of boots marked size 5. So being the good sport I am, I kept the boots. Also my husband thought the white was sexy, so that helped! They felt tighter than usual, so I called to let the people know about the color and how they felt really tight. They assured me that if the boot says 5 it’s a 5 and higher quality boots require a longer “break in” period. I took that and went riding the following weekend. I noticed my left foot feeling kinda numb but I figured they are still breaking in. Well the next weekend at Splendora I just couldn’t take it any longer. My left foot was so bruised and distorted, I measured the left boot and it was almost ½” shorter than the right boot. I also found that it was smaller in width too! I explained this to BTO and the guy had a hard time believing me. Also since I had worn them he said he can’t take them back. I convinced him it took wearing them to know they were two different sizes. He said, “Send them to me and I will decide if one is smaller than the other” I paid for the shipping and sent them. When he received them he called to let me know he can see the defect. I just had to make a statement to the Oxtar people since they are used, and in the wrong box….. The Oxtar guy was nice and understanding. He said after measuring the boots, they were sized wrong and one was indeed smaller than the other. He said he would send me a black size 5 right away. That was last week. I received them this evening; box says black size 5. I just put them on, they feel really loose… hummm The boots are marked a 6! | Doesn't do much for their reputation, huh? You gonna have a little chat with them tomorrow? |

| Oh yes, I am sure some one will be there on SATURDAY!! I just might get some insoles or something to take up the space. I guess my shifting will be a little off until I get used to them. I didn't even get an extra sticker! |

| Some places are 24/7. I'd at least give it a try. Another thing: I wouldn't wear the boots at all. If you can't talk to anyone tomorrow, I'd wait 'til Monday and get it straight. I know it's a big hassle but proper fitting gear is almost as important as wearing gear in the first place. I may be a little anal about that but that's how I feel about it. I think you should get a size 5 if that's what you need. |

Good luck and I hope you get it worked out! I would hate to try to break in a new pair of boots the day of the GMB. |

| I know, I know I too am anal about thing fitting properly. I feel like if I send them back for a 5, I take the risk of the original issue happening again. I am running out of time here. They took 2 weeks to send me this pair...after they received the defected pair. I don't have 2 weeks! And this is the highest quality boot I can get in my size. I wanted the SG10 or Alpine 8 or higher.... They dont make them that small. |

| Let them know you have a race next weekend and you need them ASAP and since they have failed to give you good service the first two times, you should get Next Day Air service at their expense. Sorry, that was the purchasing agent reasoning coming out. |

Did you actually say "break in a new pair of boots"? PFFT!!!! That word isn't even in my vocabulary when it comes to boots. I raced last weekend in my new Sidi Crossfires and never missed a shift. NOR did I ever have to "search" for the brake. Don't have any blisters either. Sidi and SG-10 owners are 1-up on everyone else. |

| That is why I normally shop through dealerships. They pay the shipping, and you pay a 10% re-stocking fee. |
