Default oneal element boots

few months ago, after rideing in work boots for a few weeks i figured id need some boots. so i went down to pep boys and figured id try out what oneal hass to offer and i must say i am very dissapointed
put them on first time my foot slipped off the kickstarter ripped a gaping hole in the leather, very dissapointed as this was my first ride with the new boots.
no protection is offered and i blame oneal for my broken ankle few months back had there been more stiff protection i dont think my ankle would have broke
so last week i put them on again and slipped on the kickstart again and the peg went all the way through into my bone sock boots skin everything
i am highly dissapointed and would recommend noone! get these boots! sure 80 dollars was good but after the doctors bills(and the ripped socks) was it worth it?
little to no protection is offered
heres some pics

My finger through the boot

my sock
please boots are one of the most important things you an skimp on gear such as jerseys but boots and a helmet should be the best you can find
i will be ordering thor quadrants immediately

Sorry to hear the gear didn't hold up at all!

It's true you get what you pay for but that's still unbelievable that they would rip first ride!

I went from work boots to Oneal M-840's and they were great entry boots! I paid $100AUD second hand for them, which in hindsite was a bit much, but they were awesome! I am assuming the Elements must be Oneal's entry level boots these days?

Dang, Billy! You definitley thrashed those boots

I agree with you on the Elements quality and would always recommend upgrading safety gear. But, from the pic you posted, the leather on those boots is seriously deteriorated and they look much older than a few months. They either sat on the shelf for 10years or stored in solvent

Talk to someone at O'neal in detail, send those pics and post their reply.

The O'neals are a good (not great) affordable entry level boot and are certainly better than standard work-boots. I would never recommend them for long-term MX or even aggressive trail riding, but for the new to the sport kid or Dad, its a good alternative for the "tennis-shoe-king". I don't work for O'neal, just putting things into perspective. Good Post!

You can pick up some Beriks super cheap. They ain't the greatest but they are better than Elements. They are going outta business so everyone is unloading them dirt cheap.

I bought a pair of those boots at Pep-boys cause they were cheap and they had them in my size! (size 14 are hard to come by!!) When I got home with them I put them on to "break" them in before riding. The first buckle I tried to latch broke off!! My girlfriend laughed as I was so surprised that they just fell apart. wore them around the house for a few hours and as I was taking them off the same buckle on the other foot broke! I was amazed at how cheap they were and took them back to PB's. I ended up with Alpinestars that I paid alot more for, but, after many trips to the trails are still in good shape and are really comfortable! Just my $.02
