At the last Vintage race of the season, I took a good dirt sample & broke my knee/shin guards, I was at the local shop & I picked up a new pair of the new Thor Force Knee guards. Today was the first time I rode with them, these are the articulating type that won't let you hyperextend your knee. They come up to mid thigh and are very comfortable & simple to fit to your knee. I didn't even notice them when I was riding, but I did notice them for the first few minutes just waking around the pits. Go take a look if your in the market for a new pair of knee/shin guards, I think you'll like them & for only $ 60.00 retail I don't think you can go wrong!

don't be lulles into a false sense of security. the thor are not for hyperextension protection.they are only fro impact protection. still. they are way better than nothing. I had on the raptor (same style as the thor) last weekend when my knee was taken out. I do feel that the patells would have been shattered instead of just chipped had i not had them on.

Yardpro: I prefer to differ with you about the hyperextenshion issue, the Thor force do offer a little hyperextenison protection, But they must be adjusted proplery to do so, what they don't offer is any hyper-rotation protection. I guess what I'm trying to say is that they are much better than the plain old hockey knee cup's that I had & not nearly what the high dollar braces that cost $ 400.00 & up. I 'm not tryin to stear anyone away from the medical braces if thay can afford them, just trying to let them know about something better than the thin hockey knee cup's

I have the same pair I think, They are comfortable and do offer some protection to hyper-extension. The knee skid pads as i like to put it, are really designed to shore up impact of course you are right there. But some are a little more protective then others. My problem with knee braces is that if you are wearing them they do protect the knee thats a good thing, But I have seen some very nasty nasty legs snapped in half because of the zero resistance of the knee brace. It solidifies the knee so the break is at weakest point at the end or the top of the braces, Shhheeesss

yor are right about "some hyperextension" protection, but not much. they are MUCH better than the old style knee guards. They are very good protection for the price.
