| Goggle Quick Strap made by Roko Sports Inc. out of Camarillo, Ca .for anybody who doesn’t know is a goggle replacement strap that allows you to have your goggles attached to your helmet. This enables the rider to take off the goggles in the event that they get covered with dust or mud or just get some more air in the helmet. When waiting on the start line you can have your goggles off without risk of fogging or dropping into the dirt. I see a lot of motocrossers that hang them on their arm when they become unusable during a moto. Others let them dangle on the neck or bars. Goggle Quick Strap consists of 4 parts. • Swivel button (Peg) that sticks to the side of your helmet. • Velcro patch for the opposite side. • Google strap with slotted hole to attach to swivel button • Goggle strap with Velcro to attach to Velcro patch Here is how they work. The directions say to stick the Swivel button and Velcro patch 3 ½ inches back of the eye opening on either side of the helmet. You must take into consideration which side to put the Velcro patch. Why because when you reach up to take the goggle off you will be taking a hand from the bars. You have to decide which hand to take off the bars, clutch or throttle. I chose to put the Velcro side on my left. This way if I am in a race I can still have the throttle going when reaching up for the goggles. This also the same side the directions recommend. Have you ever put your goggle strap over the helmet only to have it slide back off and loosen your goggles because you didn’t get the strap down far enough? This accessory will eliminate that problem. Concerns: One concern is will they keep the goggle tight enough to the face? Nobody wants a goggle that doesn’t make a good seal around the face. Answer: Yes in my opinion they keep the goggle just as tight as a normal over the helmet strap. Do the straps adjust? Answer: Yes both sides of the strap have adjustment in them. The straps are also made from stretchy material just like a traditional goggle strap. Weakness: The only weakness I have found are as follows: When wearing a chest protector and the goggle is unstrapped sometimes the goggle gets caught on the chest protector. To unhook it I just have to dip my head that way to unhook it. I have not had the problem with the goggle off while moving only while stopped. Usually when moving they are hanging in the wind behind you which can make them harder to find when you want to refasten them. The way I have found to counteract them sticking to the chest protector is to run the goggle over the top of your helmet and fasten them. This also keeps the inside dust free. This is the method I use on the start line waiting for my start. Just don't forget to hook them before the banner drops. The other possible draw back would be for desert and or hare scrambles racers where you come into the pits and have a goggle change they will be harder to snap the strap to the swivel button. The traditional strap is faster to change in the pits but the benfits of this system outweigh the second or two lost. Cost: I find them to be around the $20-$22 dollar range at my local shops. They come in multiple colors to match your color scheme. Contact: Goggle Quick Strap P.O. I would recommend them to any number of racers whether they be desert, motocross, hare scrambles, cross country or just trail riders. They unhook easy enough to clean or store off the helmet. I also think for a goggle change that it only takes a person with minimal brain power to successfully make a change quickly. They make the goggles easier to handle during trail ride breaks and on the start line. Make sure where you want to stick them because once stuck its not coming off without some work. I tried them because I saw many desert racers using them. I gave some to my team and they love them too. Most of the 11 racers on the team now use this system. I rate this product as excellent. | wearing glasses and living in Florida it is a must,, there are times when the heat and humidity cause my glasses to fog even if the goggles don't and the quick strap lets me get it off quickly to get some air to clear my glasses so I can see. And I can put it back on without stopping. Because it is velcro, you can pull it tight or leave it a little loose depending on what you need. I've been using them for 10 years |
