Ive read that a lot have a tendency to crack where the headpipe meets the mid(i think thats where it is). Ive been informed that LRD and DR.D are good power making exhausts. Congrats with your new quad!! :

I've got a DG Xccelerator Stage 3 on myfz and it makes good power all thru the band and is priced right, but is a little loud, if I had it to do over I think I would go with the Dr.D, they're coming out with a full system anytime now

Those Alba pipes are pretty bad ***. I saw one smoke everything out there with one. Just one thing. Too damn loud.

If I owned a 450 I would look at Sparks, Ron Woods, Yosh and GYT-R. I have seen very fast bikes with these pipes on but I know there power is due to more than "just a pipe". Ron Woods very impresive.

Thumbs up Re: YFZ450 pipe

My vote goes for the DR. D
Awesome power throughout the powerband, and can purchase a quiet core for it too, so's you can ride it in public areas where noise restrictions are enforced, AND your neighbors are P.O.'ed because of an overly loud pipe.

Personally, I think quiet is better especially if you are not sacrificing power.
No need to lose more riding areas over noise issues. I'd prefer to still have public riding areas 20 years from now. : :

ALBA has a real good pipe. but so does DR.D, yosh, and a few others. but like 2Fun said, i would rather have a quiet one and still have the power. heck i still have my stock one on my 400ex, even though a mount is broke, the other is breaking, and the silencer is falling off

Another vote for the Dr. D. Mine has been awesome. Just FYI, I have run head to head with a Full sparks against my slip on Dr. D and he also had the Ron Woods intake, K&N and cam mod and he only beat me by about 10 feet up thunder mountain at St. Anthony and I doubt it was the pipe.

Just out of curiosity, why do you say not to get a slip-on?
I have beaten a GYTR full system with my DR. D slip-on, and Woody_YFZ has beaten a Sparks full system (I believe) with his DR. D slip-on.

What is it about the slip-ons that you don't like? :

I have also beaten a full FMF with my slip on. Yes, the guy at St. Anthony was with that 686 Raptor and his Dad was on the Predator.
