Default YFZ DMC Alien Exhaust

check this, looks pretty impressive.

Though I'm not sure what other pipes are rated as. The other thing you have to remember is that dyno is compared to the stock stufffed up pipe. Who knows what else they did to it to get that much, but I'm sure it's not just the pipe.

DMC's are usually realllllllly loud too. I don't care for that much, anway give it a look.

Wow! Thats very impressive. I know the YFZ's are de-tuned quite alot, I guess thats the reason for the big gains. Then again you could be right, who knows what they done to get those sort of gains. It looks to good anyway!

What I meant was the air box lid was probably removed, and maybe the cam mod done, as well, as jetted etc.

Seriously, with all that done, it could get close to 10 hp I would think.

The cam mod makes a big difference alone. I guess you could get those sort of gains.

I used to be a dealer for DMC and they include all the air box mods etc. when they post their #'s. They are saying from stock to what it could be. Those #'s seem petty average with the rest of the pipes in that case. My slip on DRD with the air box lid removed and jetted gave me about a 7 hp increase.

Thumbs up Re: YFZ DMC Alien Exhaust

Nice info WoodyCRF!

But if it wont pass the sound check, its not going on any quad of mine present or future.:

BTW, don't do the free cam mod with the stocker.

A Yami mechanic said if you do that, you lose your decompression characteristics, and can burn out a starter.

Thats the last thing I would want!:

He said use the one out of the Yami 4 stroke bike (I forget which model)?:

BTW, I don't think ... your mechanic buddy is correct.

Besides on a yamaha, if you burn out a starter, it's supposed to do that. they SUCK!!!

I'm not sure, but I've not read anything about it messing with the decompression.... I'll let someone else comment since I'm not sure, all I'm saying is I don't buy his info, since, again, I've not read that any where else. I'd do more research before taking his word as truth.

He may be correct, but I'd make sure.

Oh, and Raptor starters are CRAP! That's what I'm referring to. No problems yet with the YFZ.

It has nothing to do with the Raptor starters, it is the one way (starter clutch) that has problems and yes they do suck. I don't think the YFZ shares any of those characteristics, though time will tell. The decompression pin is in a different spot, but should not affect the compression release I don't think. You're mechanic buddy could be right though. I've done a lot of research though and I have never heard that one.

Is there anything else to gain from using the motorcycle cam as opposed to using the YFZ cam?

I mean besides perhaps saving the starter (if in fact this IS a problem):

The more I think about this, the more I think that I have heard that they start a little better with the YZ cam.
