Question Yamaha Blaster clutch adjustment.

I have a 2004 yamaha blaster and when i pull the clutch lever in and put it into first gear the bike jumps foward and if I give it gas it try's to go foward with the clutch lever in. Does anyone know how to adjust the clutch.

Try warming up the quad for awhile before you put it in gear. Give the clutch and oil time to warm up. You want between 5mm and 10mm of free play in the clutch lever. "About the thickness of a dime" Also make sure you have oil in the gear box.

Ill try to warm it up and see if it has enough oil in the gear box, but I put on a new clutch cable and adjusted the top part perfect. I think it needs to be adjusted in the crankcase but I dont know how to do that. does any body know how to?

When I had mine (03) I made my clutch where I had to pull the lever all the way in before it would engage. I done this at the lever though. As far as adjusting at the case, there should be another adjustment screw/bolt almost like the one on the lever. I will take a look at some micro-fiche and double check though. What level is your gear oil at, and what kind do you use? I tried the basic YAMI lube and it didn't work right. To me anyway, so I bought synthetic oil and worked great! When you ride it, when good and hot, do you have any oil coming out near front of bike? There is an over flow hose just above the header pipe, pretty much right next to the stem. Do you notice oil all over it or is it clean? If so, there was to much in the case and it blew out. Mine had a tendancy to blow to much out and leave me short to lube everything up.

I'll get info on clutch soon...

I believe it takes alittle less then a quart.... If you look on the engine case where the filler hole is it should say something like 650cc oil

Keep an eye on the "peep site" hole. If your oil becomes cloudy where you cant really see thru the hole, change it. I changed mine after about every 4-6 races. On normal days of riding in off season, about every 10-15 depending on weather. I just played it safe. No problem on th ehelp. It's what we are here for ...

but you know,
