Well i finally got around to adjusting my valves on my 07 yfz,i picked up a hot cams shim kit(complete 1.20-3.50) for 50 bucks and well read dogriders tips and videos, then got a service manual from sandwizards.com and tore in to the adjustment! the intake valves were within specs but the exhaust shims needed to be changed! after pulling the buckets out and seeing that the factory shims had no numbers i almost cried! but then i jus measured them and had to make a decision to install a 1.75 or 1.80 well the 1.80 worked so all good now! no valve train noises, but it still has the mysterious yamaha noise! which i hear is caused by thin metals used in the engine ect... so all is well time to ride saturday! ohh yea and some how i managed to loose a cam cover bolt yamaha part #909109-06203-00 (#22 in parts book) and called all yamaha dealers within150 miles from me and no one stocks it! dont dealers stock parts! i was irrate

I guess I was lucky. The first time I did the cam mod, all the valves were in spec, so I didn't have to make any adjustments! I too was worried about dropping parts down inside the motor!

haha, I've got to check mine here soon but have been procrastinating. Probly end up waiting till I find a reason to dump money on parts for the motor then do it while it's open.
