Question Trouble removing the baffle on a YFZ450

A friend is having a hard time removing the baffle from his stock silencer.
He has removed the bottom bolt, started up the motor, pulled and pulled, but can't get it to come out.

Any tips, tricks or suggestions to make his life a little easier??

A good pair of vice grips an a winch?? I have heard of some being a pain in the butt!! Just keep pulling. I had a Raptor once that I had to ruin the insert getting it out.

The stock pipe on the Raptor is the same that is on the YFZ450. The problem isn't pulling on it, its finding something to pull on. After I take the bolt out, there is nothing there to grab on to!?!?!?! Did I miss something? The bolt that is supposed to be removed is the (ONLY) one on the bottom of the pipe. Am I right on that?

Try letting the engine warm up more by going for a ride. Mine wouldn't come out until I ran the engine for a while. I used a pair of needle nose pliars and spread the nose apart instead of using them the normal way to grab onto something (if that makes any sense).

There is a small lip that you can grab on to (sorry it's not very big), but you have to try to grab on to it. Good luck, it will come out eventually.

i used vice grips and clamped it to the exhaust opening. the trick is not pulling but to twist it counter clockwise while pulling. after that its a snap

Repeat of the last post.
Get a pair of locking pliers, lock them on the exhaust opening, then turn counter-clock-wise while pulling.

Hey dirtbikindad,

If that means to get on it and tilt one back, I'm all over it. If not, you gotta explain that one!

Actually, white and red is fastrer. They have actually done scientific tests proving so. You see, the photons tend to reflect off of the white plastic thereby keeping the plastic at its original weight. The blue plastic however absorbs these photon instead of reflecting them. Therefore, the Blue ones simply get heavier and heavier with time as they absorb more and more photons. The result is a slower (albeit faster than other quads) YFZ that will continually get slower and slower as more of the photons are absorbed. Not to mention that the color blue tends to attract more depressed riders (they're blue too), and to deal with their depression, they eat more, thereby also increasing the weight of said rider.
The White YFZs tend to attract riders with a lighter (color white) attitude and outlook on life. They therefore do NOT overconsume food and drink, therby effectively DECREASING their weight.

Now, if you have bought into this so far, I have some really nice ocean front property in Idaho that I am looking into selling. I'd be willing to make you one heck of a deal on it too!

Obviously my all black yfz has been ignored from these scientific tests. But I did notice that after I removed the factory stickers an increase of about 3.14 horsepower.

Yes, those tests were done separately.
