I'm just wondering if there really is a difference between Skat Trak Haulers and Sand Devil paddles....they seem to have the same design but Skat Trak is just more expensive....would I just be paying more for the brand name if I go with Skat Trak??

You're paying more money to have less weight. In my opinion they are worth the extra money for the haulers.

Dirt wheels just did a shoot-out on sand tires in this months issue.
They didn't test the sand devils, but did mention the weight of several other sets of tires and the Haulers were about 2 lbs lighter than the others.

I also believe that the haulers have a stiffer paddle which will not flex as easily under power, but by the same token will probably crack sooner than the sand devils.

For the average duner, I would think that the sand devils are an excellent buy. Great hook-up, and WAY cheaper than the haulers.

If however, you want to get the best hook-up, then go with the haulers.

I have had experience using both.

2fun is right. If you are into sand drags and want that little bit extra the haulers are the way to go. They are a great perfromance paddle that come in just about any configuration you want, even custom. If you are mostly a dune cruiser, like 95% of us, the sand devil and sand shark are a really good economical paddle. I bought some new ones awhile back for my wifes quad for under $40 each compared to $80 each for the haulers. The paddles do have more flex to them and probably won't tear out as easy.
