![]() Hey Guys; I have this Moto-4 80 that I purchased for my granddaughter. The carb was varnished up, so I pulled it apart and cleaned it. I didn't have a carb kit (is it available anywhere?) so I just put it back together. It starts right up with the choke ON, but when I move the choke lever at all it just dies. If I let it warm up real good, it will idle but the idle is really rough. Might be a vacuum leak. Is there a procedure for adjusting the air mixture control setting and the idle control setting??? Thanks. Gary Berry Prosser, WA |

![]() Sounds like a plugged pilot jet. Fuels leave a clear , hard as a rock, coating those very small holes in that jet . Carb cleaner and air will not touch it. Use a wire to clean it out. Paw Paw |

![]() Hey Paw Paw; Thanks for the info. I tore the carb apart again and blew out all of the passages again. Looked at the main jet and it was clogged. Cleaned it out. Put it all back together and I got it to idle by backing out the air mixture screw (right hole) almost all of the way out. Noticed that both the idle mixture screw and the air mixture screw look about the same and are interchangeable. Neither had a sharp tapered point on the end like I was expecting. Put the brass one in the left hole and the gray metal one in the right hole. Not sure if this is correct, but it's running and idling pretty good. GaryB in WA |
