There are alot of quads on [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Go there and look in the classified section. About the going rate for a stock '03-05 450 is around 3-4500.

Shees are pretty hard hitting machines, but for going thru mud with something moded like that... I wouldn't really want to. All it takes is one little piece to get into the cylindar, and there it goes.

I think you are good with one that can go through mud and not get messed up and also have all the lug nuts on the tires

Yeah yeah yeah, make sure I have all my lugs on the tire next time..

But I am leaning more towards the Banshee as of right now.. is there any major problem I would have with getting this one?

Doesn't really sound like it. As long as the one who done the motor work is dependable to do it right. If somone other then the owner done it, get the contact info and get ahold of the guy to see what all was done and why.

Being a Banshee owner I would say don't get it. It appears to be rode hard. Plus with that filter set you will not be able to go though the mud at all. I have same filter set up and if I touch water it is a bad thing!!! If you want a shee bad get a stock one that has been ridin by the wife (i mean nothing by that) just some one who does not hammer down. Then you can simply mill the head a LITTLE and have better bottom end plus more reliability. If you are going in mud airbox is a must!!!

I would dare to say he is a racer so these are his race bikes. Meaning they are like mine rode very hard. Also once you start doing big motor work you lose reliability. I race mine and have not touched the internals of the motor. I also have only had to rering it twice in the 3 1/2 yrs I have had it. It is reliable! Now I have bent almost every thing at least once, and have broke a few things, but the motor is good. Now the next time I rering it I will mill the head a LITTLE (maybe .0010) not sure yet though. I am talking with a GOOD mech. about this to be sure on how for I want to go as to keep the reliability.

You could trail a shee, but for what you're describing, the better option for all-around is the raptor by far. Next is the 450. Wouldn't bother with the shee unless you're a dragger/duner.

Yeah, at first it was between the YFZ450 and the Banshee.. then I started doing some research on the raptor 660 and realy wanted it, but only problem is the price range, going to look hard for one tomorow

Id personally go with a YFZ 450. The Banshee isnt going to be any cheaper to maintain because its a twin-cylinder and the YFZ is going to be a lot easier to keep in the powerband.
I had an '06 YFZ 450 SE and they are kind mild mannered in stock form, but aftermarket exhaust and a jet kit really wake them up. I use to ride mostly MX with some trail riding and the YFZ never let me down.
The Banshee was a great quad in it's day, but now days it is definetely behind the times in terms of suspension.
Plus, considering all the mods that Banshee has, I doubt its going to be very reliable.
The Raptor is a nice machine too, but in terms of performance its not in the same league as a YFZ. The Raptor is a good trail machine, but on a MX track the weight and suspension will really hold you back.

looky here Re: I have a few choices

Here's my 2 cents. The shees had their day and do not compare with the other two quads. In the woods the shee will get hot if you do not keep the air moving through the radiator. The other two are a toss-up for me, both have good and bad points. The 450 is lighter and has better suspension. The Rap has reverse and more lugging power. Both have electric start unlike the shee. I had an 03 Rap and rode some supercross, the bike was heavy compared to the 450 and did not corner as well but on a flat track where it was not so tecknical I prefered the Rap. Try to find a bike that is bone stock and do small mods like air filter, better exhaust, rejet and lower the gearing. If you are going to be in the mud and water then leave the airbox lid on but take the flaps out of the snorkel.

Ok so it seems like if I am going to be doing alot of trail riding, get the raptor.. and MX would be better with the 450. Which ever one I chose it is going to be stock, or have mods like exhaust or anything cosmetic, I am going to look today for a good priced 660, I will let you all know what I find.. Thanks
