awesome HELP NOW!!! REV PROBLEMS, I THINK

I am having problems allready, thats right, new motor and all aint running right!!! right before the power band kicks in it wants to bog down like the choke is pulled out all the way. even when it is sitting at an idel, when i hit it then it gets the revs up good and pops and such. new plug, jetted right, and NO PREMIX IN TANK!!! i have oil injection on it.

at first thats what i thought it was, i drained the tank and carb completly so no premix is in system, i think.

I NEED HELP FAST!!! I HAVE A RACE IN A WEEK!!!

Take your silencer and check it. Once on my bike the same happened to me, it had no power. It turned out inside silencer had come unstuck and packing was hanging down, impeding exhaust flow.
This might not be the problem but try it any way!

Good Luck!

sounds like you got some crap in the carbs. that might be blocking the gas flow in the jets . might try cleaning them out and cleaning the gas tank for good measure .

I would check the carbs and see how your reeds are looking too.

its probaly unrelated, but - It seems to me that a lot of 2strk guys remove the oil injection system to prevent failure of a $10 dollar part wrecking your expensive engine.

With all your mods I thought you might consider this too?
what did your engine guru say??

I agree.

I would remove the oil injection system, and just mix it myself.

Not saying this is the prob, but something that I would do anyway.

yea a friend of mine said the same thing tonight. i am taking it to him to have it checked out. he seems to think that it might be jetted to high with a 310 main is to high so we are going to put in the 230(factory) and work up from there and see what happens. like it may be to rich problem which very well could be. i "should" find out then. hope that it's only jetted wrong

Make sure like others said that both the pilot and main jets are not clogged..and by all means before replacing the jets...the rule is to check the float level first.

Don't go down to a 230 main if you have aftermarket pipe and filter!:

You could blow the motor!!

I had a 93 Blaster with a K&N, and FMF Fatty pipe, and I ran a 290-300 no problem!

Go down if you wish, but don't go down THAT far!:

Glad to hear you got her fixed.

Next step, trash that oil injection system as the others have suggested, before it trashes your engine.

I believe you can cork the hoses with a couple of screws???

I would ask around, cause I know it CAN be done for cheap if necessary!

Don't remember exactly what is involved though.

What else are you running besides the toomey?

90% of riders find the 300-310 works best with a stock engine with the B1 pipe kit and NO air box lid. With the air box lid you will need to drop down to a 280 290 or so.
260 sounds too lean. that whay i use for stock filters and FMF pipes.

Also if you are racing block off the injection. It helps mix the oiland fuel better entering the engine for a more complete engine mixture. your engine will thank you later.

What is your complete jetting set at?

BTW check out BlasterHQ

2fun, i would do that but i need the rear brakes now bad. the seal inside the outer dust cover by the parking brake lever is the one that leeks.

hardly, besides the toomey p/s i have it bored .10 over and thats pretty much all besides the seals and bearings being all new with the rebuild. i had the 310 but it would not run very good at all, i had to be going down hill to get in third. with the with the 260 and no lid it runs perfectly fine. it is just a TOUCH lean though so i need a 265-275 area. all the other carb settings are stock. not to sure what they are cause i aint realy a carb guy. i was told the needle is something like 350 2nd or3rd slot down...I THINK??? LOL

YOu can always go up on the main jets till it blubbers, and then back off one or two main jets till it clears up.

It may not be PERFECTLY jetted, but it will be safe and in the ball-park.

You can do plug checks from there on out in order to get the jetting closer if you need.

What is your elevation??

Like I said, the Blaster I used to own had a 290-300 main, and had the lid off, K&N filter installed, and an FMF Fatty pipe.

It ran absolutely flawless at this setting, and had a lot of power!

I am basically just a few hundred feet above sea level.
