Only take out the bolt that is under the end piece. Leave the other 3 bolts in place. After you take out the bolt ride your YFZ around for 10-15 minutes. Then grab a pair of needle nose pliars and give it a good pull. Should come out easily after that. Take off your airbox lid too. Make sure you rejet after as well.

AS Crunk has said, I have heard that warming up the pipe/silencer works well to help remove it. I just broke mine in with the stocker, and then immediately got the DR D from Woody. Either way, you will definately need to re-jet!

Just make to rejet after you get that bad boy out. No matter if you remove the airbox lid or not you really need to rejet. Go to a 165 main, 42 pilot, 4th on stock needle for you mods is my advice.

So I will have to re-jet by just taking out the baffle? It will only be out for one day when I go to a MX track this weekend.

Yes you should rejet. Even with the baffle in you should rejet. YFZs are lean from the factory. If I were you I'd just throw in a 165 main jet and leave the pilot and needle like they are now (stock).

If you are taking the lid off too, I would recommend the 165 main, but also dropping the clip to the 5th position. Depending on if you have hesitation at the lower throttle positions, you may also want to think about bumping the pilot to a 45. What is your elevation?? |
