I'm assuming the engine turns over. I would say that when it happened by landing after getting some air something got disconnected or knocked loose. When you checked the wiring did you remove the tank and check all the electrical connections?

True, but has nothing to do with no spark.

It would not even turn over if the red switch was in the off position.

Yamahas are bad about the pick up coil going bad look on the left side of the motor gear shift side and there should be a green and red wire coming out of it maybe striped wire anyways thats most likely the problem

check it with an ohm meter it should be around 150 or higher if it reads like 25 m ohms or 2.5 thats what it is send a pic. of the wires coming out and i can help you

unless something came loose in the key switch sometimes that happens

hope this helps

thanks for the help guys i will check the pick up coil i really hope thats the prob. I got all the plastics and tank off can't find any bad connections. the problem is b4 i got it someone re wired it all so it doesn't even have the red switch. no kill switch either just the key. but it has worked fine since i have had it in early spring till just the other day. i just hope its not the CDI. and thanks for stating the obvious too some people wouldn't check that stuff i guess. i'll let you know how it turns out!

if it is the problem when you go to fix it turn the bike on its side so you dont loose any oil plus it makes it easier to work on it

ok everyone finally another day off, and i can look at the bike. i tested the pickup coil and it reads like 460 OHMs i tested a new one and it was almost the same. so i assume thats not the problem. But when i went to test the sorce coil it has no reading at all. i checked the wires going to it and there fine. so i'm thinking there should be a reading there of some sort or atleast a circuit between the two wires. am i correct? do u think this is the prob?
