flasher 06 yfz 450 jetting issues

I have an 06 yfz 450 bone stock other than gytr pleated air filter. It would not idle w/o partial choke and backfires. Just installed gytr jet kit 165m 45p
#4 needle clip seems to now idles but header turns orange fast. I did not ride it because this can't be good. It was 55 degrees @900' air screw at stock pos. 2 turns. Any Ideas? I have looked at many things in here and that seems to be where everyone is o.k.

well the pipe turning orange is normal. it seems like your running a bit lean if u need to hold out the choke.... i would suggest u get a dial a jet. its the best thing i ever put on my yfz 450

The choke only had to be out prior to jetting. The pipe turned orange within a few minutes after jetting just by revving up not driving (may be normal I am used to my banshee and a fuel injected sled)

oh ok well is your jetting still messed up. and the pipe is complety normal mine does it to, its a high performance pipe which is thinner then normal to save weight. mine only gets orange when it sits but when i go it usually just gets red.

It is better still could use some fine tuning. The pipe is stock and turning orange is normal? (seems odd for not running long-3 min.) Just got this atv so not sure what to expect yet -- thanks

My '04 was like that when idling... I put a 48 pilot jet in it and that took care of it.....They are jetted lean from the factory so they can pass California's strict laws

Thanks, I'll try a 48 pilot and see what she does.
