Default JR50 Ignition Help

I picked up a 1979 JR50 that sat outside for a very long time. It has compression and all the parts are there, but I cannot get spark. Replaced the ignition coil, still nothing. I've removed the flywheel, magnets seem good. Cleaned the points, nothing visibly wrong with the primary coil or condenser. Put it back together and disconnected the kill switch, still nothing. I can't find a replacement for the coil except on some foreign site that says they have the part for 41 Euros. Nothing else available here in the US. Don't really want to go that route.

I just checked resistance on the primary coil and it seems to be shorted. I've looked at some solid state replacements for the condenser/coil/points but am not sure what could work here. My son is 5, I have a YZ80 I'm working on which will be next for him after the JR50, so I don't want to sink too much money in the JR. Any suggestions to get this thing running? I've been messing around for too long! Wouldn't mind rewinding the primary coil if that's a reasonable option.
