Jetting issue Hello,
I plan on doing some ridding my RM 250 at the colder tempertaures and am trying to get my jetting right. I have looked at Spanky's jetting guide. I set the bike to idle and then adjust the air screw starting at 1 1/2 turns. The rpms drop when I go in to 1/2 turn. The rpm increase from 1 1/2 turns to 3 turns. This indicates that the pilot need to be decreased, right? The bike exhaust sounds like it is poping as I turn the throttle to 1/2. I am confused. Is the poping an indication of a lean condition. I suspect that the bike is running lean considering the 35 F outside temp. My jetting is stock 162 main, 48 pilot, except the clip is in the second position. I have a Pro Circuit Pipe and silencer and Twin Ait filter. Pro Cicuit recommends one jet size smaller for all of the jets, but I supect that this is at warmer temperatures. Does anyone have any advice on this jetting problem?
