Sounds like a carb problem. Take it apart and check the float level and give it a good clean. If this doesn't help then run it for a while and check your spark plug. If it's light tan or white, then you're running lean. If it's dark, oily black, then you're running rich. After you have figured out what way you need to go and you're positive your float level is on, then you can start jetting. Hope this helps

What color is the smoke? If it's white, then you'll need to replace the main seal.

Until you see what transmission oil and what engine oil look like burning on the same day, just saying white or blue doesnt always make sense.

For the DS I am betting the float hasn't been set since the carburetor manufactured did it. Once a season isn't too much, so start there.

HI all I have just finished a top end rebuild on my DS 80 but still having problems. The thing wont kick start but will clutch start, it also wont idle and blows lots of smoke.I have tried ajusting the idle screw, and oil injection and also cleaned the carbie but still have problems. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
