Suzuki's injection system (CCI) used a oil spray into the crank. You have to drill out the passage in order to run pre-mix only and take the injector off. CCI is Crank Case Injection.

You have a line to the carburetor and a line to a passage into the crank. If the line is gone someone did the ,modification to the bike. Suzuki sold hop-up kits with small injection containers and instructions on how to remove the CCI entirely in the 70's

Let us know that the DS runs okay when you get her reassembled. Best of luck.

Sir,
The reed set up is a case reed induction. Suzuki went in for this starting with the RM250A and 370A in 1976 models and expanded their use across the 2 stroke off-road line, including the RM 125, 100 and 80. I owned a lot of mid 70's Suzukis with this system.

As best as I can tell that motor in the picture has the bottom end modification allowing pre-mix use done to it, either by an owner or the factory. I don't think it is factory however since the DS line was a casual off road line.

cwartkins, i have a 1986 DS80, ive been mixing gas for that bike for two years now. Nothing has happened to it and it still rips along. What i would do is i just would leave the oil tank empty but pre mix the gas. if you need any help, or parts tell me. Ive ripped that bike apart many times and i have a few spare parts. By the way, the DS80 sounds mint with out the silencer

Angry Re: DS80

Hi all
My son has a DS80 about a 1996 it used to has stacks off power but resently it's just dead. It start after about 20 kicks and you have to run along side it to pull off but when you put it in 2nd it just dies.
Any ideas?
I have opened it, very thing looks like new, I did change the crank seal behind the botton coil the other one is inside the casing I did not open that.
Thanx
Bosvark

Hi all, I have just finished a top end rebuild on my DS 80 but still having problems. The thing wont kick start but will clutch start, it also wont idle and blows lots of smoke.I have tried ajusting the idle screw, and oil injection and also cleaned the carbie but still have problems. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
