I just bought a 99 Rm125 and am in the process of rebuiling the clutch and was wondering if anyone knows what the torque should be on the clutch springs? I was also wondering what weight oil should i use for gear oil? i've heard of people using regular 10w30 and was wondernig if that would work? Also there are some teeth worn in on my inner hub and was wondering if that should be replaced or if i could file the teeth down and if needed to be replaced how much would i be looking to spend. Im new to the sport and this is my first bike so any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure on the torque settings for your clutch, I normally torque to german spec to be honest (good 'n' tight), yes 10w30 is fine to use, don't think of it as gear oil like you would in a car, the oil is lubricating every moving part of both the engine and trans; you wouldn't run 90w in your car's engine would you? Also, try to find an oil specifically for bikes or just without "friction modifiers", these additives will not allow for normal operation of your clutch. Motorcycle oil will be specifically designed for a wet clutch such as yours. The inner hub shouldn't run you more than $50 unless you purchase it at a dealer, I'm assuming you are talking about the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It doesn't need to be replaced until the steel disks in your clutch assembly start to catch instead of sliding freely (does that make sense?) I wouldn't bother with filing, I would just replace the hub (that's just me) you can file it, it has been done before with success.

I have the exact same bike as you and it says in the clymer service manual to torque them to 10 foot pounds... to tell you the truth i replaced the springs and plates in my bike and didnt even torque them..just tighten them in a star patteren across from each other and you should be fine

Gear oil is not rated like motor oil, 75w80 is not remotely like a 75 weight motor oil. Better to use something like Honda gear oil in the trans, regular motor oil has slippery additives that can make clutch slip, I run ATF Dextron.
