Default 1993 RM125 Coolant/Oil issue

     

Hey guys; trying to figure out my issue here. My bike just got a new top end due to the bike overheating and blowing the rings. Originally, I thought the cause of this was because the o-rings in the head went bad so I thought the top end gasket kit would fix the problem. Not true. The bike has no power at all. I suspected issues with the power valve linkage to be behind this issue. Also, the power valve hose billows white smoke and a coolant/oil mix. Got the bike taken apart and drained the coolant first. Very little coolant was left, but there was also some oil mixed in with it. Drained the oil and viola! About 2 gal of coolant poured out then a little bit of oil afterwards. I took all the clutch side cases off and cleaned them. Meanwhile, I discovered the PV linkage/control arm was disconnected at the bottom (power issue solved I believe). The water pump impeller also looked to be in rough shape. The oil seal around the shaft is worn and out of spec. considering I could freely pivot the shaft and can see gaps in the seal.

My question is this: I bought all new gaskets for the clutch side case as well as a new oil seal for the water pump. Do you guys think this will resolve whatever issue is up with the smoke and oil/coolant mix coming out of the vent? Why would that hose be smoking sooo much?


Sorry for the long post. I wanted to try to be complete and have as much info as possible to help diagnose my situation.
