1986 rm80 service manual and help with new issue I am looking for a Service manual .... background on project...
I purchased this bike as a small project and it's turning into a nightmare. started off with fork replacement, steering stem, took engine apart to confirm that the top end was rebuilt. checked out ok. Bike was still running but went through everything to be safe. I took the bike out for the first ride and noticed grey goop coming out of the breather tube for the clutch side. Opened up the filler cap and sure as heck I found the oil contaminated with water which turned out to be antifreeze.
Pulled the cover over and found a damaged seal, so antifreeze from water pump was making its way into the clutch. I need to say that the bike ran really well and other than this. Finally got the parts and repaired the seals and put everything back together. I can get the bike to start but it's now running like a dog. a small carb adjustment to get the bike revving nice and crisp like I did the first time.... as soon as it starts to rev it bogs down. Almost sounds like a rev limiter... when I ride it seems to die/bog right before it should kick into power band.
Either way I've been searching high and low for a service manual that has specs and stuff so that I can start checking the coil and stator. I have over 120psi of compression, changed the spark plug, cleaned the carb 2 times even though it was just rebuilt by a shop by the previous owner. |
