flasher Tire Pressure Help

Can any1 tell me what pressure my tires should be at? I've tried 2 research, but have come up short. My front tire size is 80/100-21. My rear tire is 110/90-19. Any information would be most helpful. Thank you!!!

My preference is 12 psi front and rear. I've run less before, but sure makes the bike feel like it's tracking funny.

I run both my front and back at 15 psi and they work fine.

Tire pressure is a personal thing. It will depend on what type of terrain you ride on, what type of tire you are running and what your riding ability is as well as what type of riding you do. What works for one person wont work for another.

My 85 I usually run somewhere between 13-18 psi. It all determins on what the track surface is, the track condition, the track speed. For instance, a high speed track, your tire pressure would be different than a more technical track. I feel 13-18 psi is a pretty safe range to run your tires, start out at 18 and ride it, if you dont like it, take a pound out till you get it working good

another thing that could effect this is your suspension set up. if your suspension is incorectly set up, or set up for a different rider other than you, than you may have problems.

Yep, anywhere from 10-15psi depending on terrain and tire compound.

For example, I find that I can run about 1-2 lbs less if I'm running a Michelin tire because they have really stiff sidewalls.

So what it all boils down to is track conditions and tire choice.

If you have the time and a pump, you can of course try some different pressures at the track just to see what they do. You will be very surprised what 1lbs of change will do to the handling of the bike for the conditions.

jeff ward once said, "if you don't know what to run, run 13."

i generally run 10-12 but i ride mx only.

Soft dirt means soft tires and hard or rocky dirt means harder tires. 10 lbs is soft and 15 lbs is hard. Somewhere inbetween should be good for you. It's trial and error to find the perfect psi for preventing flats yet getting traction.

The rule of thumb has been that you go harder for a hard surface than you do for a soft surface. Then some guy came along and told me that he liked to put his bike on a level piece of hard pack or pavement. Then he would get someone about his weight to sit on it in a riding position. Then he would set the tire to where there was a center knob directly under each axle. From there he would drop pressure until the knob in front and behind the centered knob was just beginning to touch. He would do that on the front and back. Kind of ran in line with higher pressure for a harder track etc, because the knobs are closer together on a hard track tire. But what the heck would some smiley guy on a Husqvarna with a goofy name like Malcolm know anyway? Tires probably have changed a lot since 1969, but it is where I still start with an unfamiliar brand or model.
