Default New (to me) KX 125

I just bought a 1992 KX 125. It rides pretty good and starts one kick. It is my first 2 stroke bike, so I have a few questions.

1. What fluid do you guys recommend for the case?

2. Besides maintenance that you would do to any vehicle, is there anything specific to a 2 stroke that I need to be aware of?

Thanks

Due to the high revving nature of a 125, buy yourself a compression tester.

As for oil, you'll get more suggestions than stars in the sky. I'm of the belief you could run cooking oil in one if you changed it frequently.

Any good motor oil will suffice, though.

I used to run premix that you get from a gas station in my 1983 cr 60 and my 1997 kx 100 and they lasted me a pretty long time so really any motor oil would work.

get your self some Bell ray gear oil FOR 2 STROKE'S!!! because you will mess up your clutch and gearbox if you use normal car oil because it has metal extracts in it

How is your jetting set up and how dose your spark plug look like

you should just re-place the gasket by your power valve and it will stop leaking
