Question My 1983 KDX 250 and Girlfriend

I've got a question about this bike (1983 Kawasaki KDX 250)

I just got this 1983 KDX 250 for free. The Bike is in PERFECT condition, not a damn thing wrong with it,.. except.. two sucked crank seals. The motor is all taken apart and im in the process of putting it back together. Well, my girlfriend really really really wants a bike. So she asked me if I can fit this monster to her. She stands a 4'11". Is it possible to lower this KDX 250 low enough for her to ride?

Thanks

yes, the KDX250 has a big motor in cc's, but in actual power it isn't anything NEAR a KX250 motocrosser. KDX's are the benchmark for smooth, easy to handle power but with enough on tap to keep you having fun, so i doubt your better half will have any trouble with the power, but as for the lowering i'd suggest shaving the seat foam a little, combined with lo-rise bars, then soften up the rear shock (or shocks, i don't know if they were dualshock back then or not) then slide the fork tubes up in the triple clamps, by doing so you will lower the bike a little, possibly by 3-4 inches. also, you can probably get lots more info from Tryce, (FFRacing11x) he's pretty much a dirtbike expert here.... he'll set you and your S.O. straight.

p.s. can you send ME a few bikes for free?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try sliding the forks up in the triple clamps and lowering the rear (single) shock. But as far as shaving the seat foam.. no way... i'd like to keep it close to stock as possible. Thanks for your help!.

sure, no problem! i just listed all i could think of that would make the bike easier for the vertically challenged, it's not necessary, and then when anyone with any sort of girth gets on that person will be able to count the molecules in the steel of the subframe...:

glad to help!
