KX500 engine number

I have googled and searched the web for couple days now. I have a KX500 on a outlaw kart and was told it was a 86. I am trying to verify it but unable to find a site that can help me out. the numbers are KX500BE003191. Can anyone help me locate a site or a number i could call to get the year verified? thanks for any help.

KX500B usually means 1985, but that is a guess.

At kxriders.com, there are a LOT of KX500 junkies. Ask there and you'll find your answer.
