Default Kx250 throttle needle dilema

I have a 94 kx250 throttle needle that i broke(smh), looking for a new one i realized they are obsolete, was thinking to go with a newer needle for example a 2000, and get the corresponding jets for that year? Not sure if this would work? Any advice would appreciated, thanks.

If you do some research, you can cross reference the stock needle. I beleive there is a kdx forum/site that explains the letters on the kawasaki needles. I bought a replacement for a discontinued needle at motorcyclecarbs.com.

Here is the info on deciphering the kawasaki code in to a keihin part number.

IT IS BEST TO MEASURE THE NEEDLE DIAMETERS EVERY 10MM DOWN THE NEEDLE AND THEN TRY TO MATCH THAT WITH AN AVAILABLE NEEDLE

Also, if you don't have the manual make sure you understand how the needle and it's design affect the jetting of the carb. Here is a basic chart diagram that should help:

If that KX runs a makuni just call Sudco & get a new replacement needle.

They also have kehin needles.
