The BAR MOUNT isnt straight with the forks

Heres a lil drawing... i dont understand how to straighten this up! I dont see how it is crooked in the 1st place! this is very weird... am i going to have to buy a new mount or something?

If i need to explain my self more, tell me, and tell me in what ways....

Did you crash and it end up like this? If so just loosen the bar mounts and bar clamps and tighten back up with everything straight. If thats the case, that is what the RG3 upper triple clamp will eliminate (twisted bar mounts), cause of the 4 post clamp design.

K-Kid, I had the same issues. I loosened up the posts going from thru the upper clamp, checked the bolts, one of mine is bent, and then reinstalled everything. Since the bolt is bent, it came out crooked again, so I swapped sides, sure enough the other side then became off center. Thats when it dawned on me it was the bolt. I have noticed with the rubber cones in there it is actually very easy to knock it off center. I ordered some aluminum cones from Dennis Kirk, and new bolt set from a local shop.
While I was at it I adjust the forks a little lower into the clamps, and centered the tubes so both fork vents were @ the 12 O'clock. This should help when looking for tweaks.

Good luck.

Charlie.

It was not me who crashed it , it was previous owner... and if it was a crash bad enough to bend the plate where it all mounts, i think it would of broke it, not bent it..

It looks like a casting/machineing issue.....

Maybe i can have a friend bring his digital cam over and take some pictures for you guys...

Are you sure one of your clamp bolts isn't bent like CAT3 said? I'd almost bet it some problem related to the rubber mount setup. Order some new bolts and try that first, and maybe get some of those aluminum cones CAT3 was talking about.

I also find it hard to believe that the top clamp is off (but not impossible). I would really look at all the parts involved a lot closer and Id almost bet money that you will find the problem somewhere else. And if it is the top clamp, what better excuse to buy some sweet clamp from RG3 or PC or whatever you like?

KK, are you measuring from the mount bottoms or the holes the mount goes through?

ok.... i am measureing from the top of the hole to the top of the clamp

I am positvie it is off.... and i dont have the money for a new pipe... much less a new trip clamp... this is so weird tho... i dont get how they would mess up one something like this...

I am sure the bolts arent bent... I changed them out and it was the same...(swaped around) I swear these holes arent in the right place...

well so now that i really need to get some money... anyone wanna buy a new sig for $5

I am selling my paintball gun for $100 hopefully... if the buyer comes through... thats almost half way ($150 for a new clamp? and the pipe is $164)

20 sigs would be a fun project... and hey i could do avatars too....

I was thinking about doing this for everyone for free before (3 weeks ago lol) then i get a bike... now i need to replace things...
Well... if anyone needs anything graphics wise... ask me...please?

keep an eye out on ebay. stock pipes go CHEAP, and the fmf ones go for around 100.

FMF SST - 130 bucks [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

FMF Fatty - 120 bucks - [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I think the 02 will fit all pipes 98-02, but i could be wrong.

search kx 125, kx125, kx 125 pipe, kx125 pipe. Or just do kx125 or kx 125 and narrow it down:

kx125--> Parts & Accesories --> Motorcycle --> Asian --> Exhaust

And that Fatty should be just what your looking for... right in ur price range.
