Default Fuel Consumption?

Hi Guys I need some advice on this topic. I just bought my KX125 and took it out for a couple of hours of riding on Sunday. I was not sure how long I could ride before the tank was close to empty and it seemed to have gone through about 3/4 tank in about 8-9 miles of trail riding. My bike is completely stock with the exception of the previous owner going up on the main jet 1 size. He told me that when he rode it he was usually going at high speeds and so he changed the jetting in order to dump a little more fuel into the cylinder. He also ran a mix ratio of 25:1 and our elevation is about 5000ft. With the jetting change, would this cause me to burn fuel at a faster rate than normal when i was not riding near full speed? I would also like to know if the 25:1 ratio is too much oil in a 5 gallon can? After riding I noticed the oil spooge leaking from the tail pipe, I would assume this is normal right?
Thanks, Chris.

A little oil coming out of the silencer is normal, but if it's running out, it's probably a result of rich jetting or the 25:1 mix ratio. I use 32:1 in my CR125, some people run 40:1, 50:1.

At 5,000 ft stock jetting is normally too rich. Was the previous owner also at 5,000 ft?

Yes he was at the same elevation. The oil out the tail pipe really is not running out but more like after I stopped riding then it leaked out enough to make a few drips of black oil on my garage floor. Maybe the mixture is too rich, guess I'll pull the plug to look at it. The performance was really good but I was just concerned with how fast the bike burned up 2 gallons of fuel.

Oil dripping on the garage floor is running out. I would change to 40:1 or even 50:1 but many people here have trouble wrapping their brain around 50:1. Sounds like the jetting could be rich but the best way to tell is to do some testing, jetting and plug readings. I would definitely get away from 25:1 thats too much oil.

I'll second that 25:1, that's nutz. Go 40:1 and keep an eye on that plug color. Your getting way to much spooge= too rich.
