Default DIES UNDER LOAD

     

OK NUWBIE HERE. I GOT A 99 KX 250 IT RAN FINE TILL I TOOK IT TO THE CARWASH NOW IT WILL START AND RUN FINE BUT AS SOON AS I GO TO TAKE OFF IT DIES LIKE IT DONT WANT TO RUN WHEN UNDER A LOAD??? ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANX

Sounds like water got through the air filter and down into the crank cavity. When this happens it will sometimes start, but as soon as you rev it the water rises into the combustion chamber and kills it. Pull the spark plug out, hold the throttle wide open and kick it over very fast several times to help clear it out. If that fails....Leave he plug out and turn the bike upside down and let it set until the water runs out.

would this still be the case when I start it on the stand and it runs and revs good even go through the gears fine???

I had one of those bikes and it did the same thing after you washed it....you have water in one of the electrical connections, or in your stator area. Take apart the connections and clean with electric contact cleaner and piece of 400 grit sand paper and lightly scuff the connectors and put back together, if the problem still exists check for water in the stator area!
