I am refreshing the top end on my recently acquired KX250, and I noticed there are two different head gaskets shown in the parts manual. The 0.26 seems to be stock with the 0.46 shown as an option. What's the difference between the 0.26 and the 0.46? Thanks, Wes

Yeah my first thought was thickness too, but a 0.46 thick ? At least it would be strong!? Wes

I finally got to the bottom of this.... Yes, the .46 is the "Normal" head gasket for the KX250, while the .26 head is the "High Compression" head gasket and should only be used if high octane racing fuel is to be used. Although they call it a .46 head gasket, they must really mean .046.
