Default 01 kx250 starts but stuck wide open

well guys i just got done doing a rebuild and i got every thing together but when i first started it the throttle was stuck wide open so i hit the kill switch...i was thinking it was the slide so i took it apart and cleaned everything.jets/floats/needle and slide so i put it all back together tried to crank it it but it only starts when the choke is pulled on and it did the exact same thing so i tried to crank it with no choke and it wont do nothing...so what else can i try to get this thing to idle right so i can do the heat cycles..any help would be helpfull

well i figure it out it was sucking air between the reed cags and the back of the block..never figured that a small air leak would cause a bike to run wide open...

Good job. Even a pin hole will do that.

No smoke doesn't really mean anything. My 250 doesn't smoke after it's warmed up. You may want to empty the fuel left in the tank and mix up some fresh fuel.

When you take it back apart, make sure all the surfaces where the gaskets are are super clean. Use a razor blade and scrape in a dragging motion to clean them.

Good Luck and TAKE YOUR TIME!
