Why not just have the threads repaired on the crank and put in a new key?
My parts book shows the cranks are different than yours. It could just be the rod is different, but not sure.

If you look up the part number for your '87 it shows a superseding number. If you reverse look up that number, it shows it as original equipment on 1990 and 1991 cr250. Hope that helps or at least makes the parts pool a little deeper. I would look for an oem crankshaft and have it rebuilt, as long as it is an option.

The threads are ok usable but the notch in the crank for the key is gone. Like the guy forgot to tighten flywheel and wiped out the recess on the crank. Apperently the rod is same from 84-01 thats how they list it.So just buy a used crank and have it rebuilt is best way?

Probably the only way, aside from putting a used one in.
