Default Throttle cable ??????

Ok so I went and bought a new throttle cable the other day due to my other one being all bent up. my question is I got the stock throttle tube and a motion pro cable part# 02-0247. is their suposed to be alot of play in the throttle tube? I can move it a good amount and I have the threaded end on the throttle tube assymbly backed out as far as I can. it it supposed to have play and move really easy or did I do something wrong? I hope I can get this fixed before our big camping trip next week.

if u have the adjuster all the way out at the throttle housing. and still have too much play in the cable. check down on the carb there should be another adjuster down there. thats where the big part of the play should be taken up. the upper adjuster if for fine tuning.

its an 02 cr250. OK so I went out and looked at the carb and that setting was all the way in so I pulled it out and its like maybe 3 turns from being all the way out, and the throttle end is the same. theirs not as much play in the throttle tube but still kinda concerns me a bit. maybe wrong cable or marked wrong?

yeah sounds like they gave you the wrong cable, you shouldnt have to be maxed out to get it to work. then what would be the point of havine the ability to adjust or fine tune it.

just checked motion pro web site and the part # looks good. it did say Stock throttle to stock carb. Also fits CR Comp throttle to Mikuni TM 36-38. for part #(02-0247).

yea I even double checked the part number myself too. I did have the motion pro throttle kit but when I orderd the cable I didnt know that the threaded end of the cable would be smaller. but now after looking at bike bandits site looks like the throttle assembly I have doesn't look like the stock one they show. so wondering if the throttle assembly might be wrong. looks like the throttle tube on my girlfriends crf150.

if you have the stock throttle housing beans i would put an genuine honda cable on it, heres the part # CABLE, THROTTLE 17910-KZ3-J41 cost $21.06. if you need it by next weekend this is the best way to go. it cost more than the motion pro one, but you know it will fit. try motosport.com thats where i looked it up. they have a good deal on shipping right now if you spend so much, check it out, i order from them all the time.

Well found the part number to my moition pro throttle kit so will be hitting up the local shop to see if I can get one orders. Ended up putting the old throttle kit back on for the mean time.
