Default Something wrong with my clutch??

Hello,

So I have an issue with my bike, a 2001 Honda CR125. When I have been riding for a while I often take breaks. When I go to start riding again I often like to pop start the bike, however, when the bike is not running, in 1st gear, and clutch pulled in, the bike is not free to roll. I am assuming the the clutch is just not disengaging enough, or properly. However, when I am actually riding, the clutch performs flawlessly and I can easily rev the bike with the clutch pulled in without it trying to accelerate.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Default OK

Ok, due to the design of the mx bike transmission, it will not push easy when in gear with the clutch pulled in. It is the nature of the unit.
With that being said....You clutch basket could be notched as they will get that way after many hours of use. This will make the issue worst. The only way to know is to look at the clutch basket and check for notches. Then the only real fix is to replace it.

Check this other post that has a photo of a bad basket and what will happen if not replaced.

95 rm125 clutch basket? how bad is mine? what can i do?

I had a feeling the tranny of the race bikes was causing it, thanks for varifying! Last weekend I had the clutch out and basket it if good condition, no notching or anything like that. Thanks for the link to that other post, got a few other answers to some questions I had, Thanks!!
