Default shifting down without the clutch

Is it normal to be able to shift down without the clutch. I know you can shift up with no clutch but on my bike I can shift down too with ease. I dont hear any grinding or anything when I shift down either. Is this really bad or is it common with older bikes. I have a 83 cr 125.
Thanks

It is normal. In fact I rarely use my clutch ever when shifting, either up or down.

I never do downshifting, very rarely when upshifting. So people will tell you it's bad to downshift w/o clutch for your gearing. I say oh, well, I'll only have the bike two years tops anyway.... it'll be the next guys problem.lol

Remind me not to buy a bike from Jeff.

Its not the shift down thing that scares me (normal) just the attitude!

i always shift down without the clutch, and VERY rarely, if ever, shift up without it. the only times i ever shift up w/o the clutch is when i'm carrying something (shovel, folding chair, air pump... whatever) and its normally at about 1500 RPM or so, i DO NOT want my skeery powerband to kick in while i'm only holding on with one hand ( : )
