Default Rebuild time

I just bought a 04 cr250. I love it. I bought it from the original owner. he claimed he never rebuilt it. So im rebuilding it this weekend. I got a wiseco pro lite piston kit. cometic gaskets and wiseco needle bearing. my question is our cylinders arent ment to be bored so can i just clean in with soap and water and a scotch pad? also It says you have to drill holes for the exhaust bridge for lubrication. how big do the holes have to be and how many do you drill? the instructions dont say anything specific. any other tips would be great. Its my first topend rebuild but im very mechanically inclined. and i have all the tools needed. just want to do it right. let me know. thanks

When I rebuilt my 03CR250 Wiseco sent installation instructions which helped me with the Lubirication holes, It was a small green sheet inside the box with the piston. Here is what is says word for word.
"If the cylinder has an exhaust bridge, the piston should contain lubrication holes on the skirt where it contacts the exhaust bridge. If the piston does not have the lubrication holes on the skirt. follow these steps to drill the lubrication holes.
1) Install the piston and wrist pin on the connecting rod using one circlip.
2)Slide the cylinder over the piston and align it to its normal position on the crankcase.
3)slowly turn the engine over until the bottom ring groove is at the top of the exhuast bridge.
4)Reach through the exhaust port with a pencil, and mark a verical line on the poston on both sides of the exhaust skirt.
5)Remove the cylinder and piston, and drill 2 holes (.060-.090" diameter), .375" apart, starting .300" below the bottom ring, and between the pencil lines.
6) Remove all burrs fom the lubrication holes, and clean the piston thourghly." (Wiseco installation instructions"
I followed these instructions on my rebuild and it has work perfectly. Hope this helps.

When i first bought it was in decent shape so I tore it down to go through the bike and do everything i wanted to it.

heres when i got it

this is after i put a new clutch and clutch cover on it and pro taper bars.

took the motor out and stripped bike to bare frame.

after I rebuilt the motor and wet sanded and polished the whole frame. engine installed

Bike all assembled. new pro circuit exhaust.
