![]() The other day at the races I found myself getting bored out of my mind waiting for Tracys next moto. I decided I'm not gonna sit around anymore and told her I was gonna start Dez racing. I would do motocross thing but to be honest with you, It just doesn't intrest me. I suck at jumping and get pissed when a 7 year kid waves at me while hes flying through the berm. I'm going to be getting the bike some armor and a few other things. I will be taking pictures as I go so I'll keep you posted. heres where I'm gonna start. Obviously I'll go through the whole bike and make sure all the essential parts are in good working order 1. Spokes and possible rims 2. Skid plate 3. Pipe guard 4. Shark fin 5. GPR stablizer 6. Desert Tank 7. flywheel weight 8. Hand guards (Florida 393) 9. change your gearing (kwmotocrosspunk) 10. coolant over flow bottle(ThumperTDC) If anyone thinks of anything else just type away. While all the work is being done I'm going to be watching what I eat and working on my stamina and endurance. Sorry guys no more Carne for me! Tracy and I were looking at going out to AZ and doing a one on one class with Desrty Abbott. ![]() Very cool. All Except the carne part. That's just wrong. Actually I think it's illegal to not have carne ![]() Seriously though, I can't wait to see how the bike turns out. Good luck. |

![]() I would also think about maybe a coolant over flow bottle, just in case. I am sure you could get one off a WR or something and have some tabs welded to your rear subframe. |

![]() I edited my original post with all your suggestions. Thanks guys. I talked to Chris today and it looks like we are gonna go through the front/rear rims for truing and messed up spokes and replace them as needed (one at a time). The rims are in good shape, no cracks so I'm gonna leave em stock. Don't worry I'll throw some carne on the BBQ for ya once in a while! |

![]() ok heres an update.. While spinning my rear wheel off I noticed the brake caliper was moving so I took off the rotor and placed it on a flat surface...ya its bent. new rear brake rotor will be ordered in a few weeks....I cant belive how expensive those things are. I pulled the bike down to frame and motor and will be greasing EVERYTHING by the end of this week. (pictures pending)sorry I pulled the carb today, check, inspected (for wear) and will be adjusting the float level tommorow. I'm going to be ordering the lil rubber gaskets next monday. Heres some pics ![]() Thats one dirty carb! ![]() 380 Main Jet 30 Pilot Jet ![]() All Clean! I soaked all spoke nipples and got the them to break loose except one. I'm going to the Honda shop by the end of this week and will be replacing it. P1M and I trued both rims and I found a few lil dings nothing big. Those babys are straight...Thanks Chris! I recieved a works connection skid plate which will be going on last. A new IMS shark fin is on backorder and should be here soon, probably 2 weeks. I found the rear wheel bearings not moving. I tried moving them with my fingers . I think they frozen. not sure but the front and rear wheel bearing are going to be replaced at the end of this month. Works Connection Radiator braces are getting ordered next monday. Theres more but I wont bore yall See ya! -Kevin- |
