Hey guys!

I have a 94 CR250. The beast starts right up in 3 kicks the only issue I seem to be having is I take it for a trip down the road and it just dies! Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing this and or where to start looking!!

There are several things that can cause this issue.
1. Fuel starvation. This can be caused by: Clogged vent lines on the carb, clogged vent line on the fuel tank cap, improperly set float height in the carb, poor fuel flow to the carb or a dirty carb in general.
2. Ignition issues: a coil that is on its last leg and is out of spec on it's ohm readings on the primary side, a faulty spark plug.
3. Excess heat in the engine due to wear or faulty water pump.
How long have you owned the bike?
When was the carb cleaned last?
Are you using fresh fuel mix?
When was the last engine over haul?
Has the bike set unused for a while?
What does the spark plug tip look like when it dies?

Thanks for the response paw paw. I've only owned the bike a few months. I just cleaned the carb a week ago. Have drained all fluids and put a fresh fuel mix in it. From what the previous owner said it had sat for a year or so. Currently im disassembling the top end.. and am having issues getting the cylinder bolts off!! What is the best tool used for this sockets dont seem to fit nor do wrenches.any help would be great

A boxed end wrench or a crows foot.
